Work hack #28: Deliberate praise

While many people are masters of criticism, an appreciative word rarely rolls off their tongues. According to the motto: Not nagging is praise enough. We say: Praise each other! Because honest praise, in the situation or at least promptly after a good deed or performance, does not only feel good but connects us as team members and people AND increases motivation. It is important that the praise is not strategic, but comes from an honest feeling. Nevertheless, it can make sense to practice praise, especially if it seldomly happens naturally. Hold a “praise day” once a month, where you consciously reflect on what your colleagues have done really well recently – and then tell them. You already praise consciously and from the heart? Well done!
