What we do – and what we stand for.
With great enthusiasm for innovation, we develop software that connects people and knowledge in organizations: to reduce silos, to network expertise and experience – and to make “new work” a reality together.
Our solutions can be deployed immediately and enable companies (from SMEs to the DAX Group) to make a difference and bring their working models and structures into the digital age without having to make major changes. To accomplish this, we use the strongest leverage that organizations have: their own employees. We ourselves work in our Berlin office with the highest degree of flexibility – and think in terms of tasks, not fixed positions. Because who actually determined that each job fits best in 40 hours per week? In our 30-member team, all colleagues work in flexible models.
Currently we have 3 job-sharing tandems, 4 interdisciplinary project teams, 5 freelancers and 12 colleagues with a 4-day week. Most recently, we introduced the Bavarian holidays at our Berlin location, because a few small breaks (only 4 more!) from everyday life do not seem to detract from our economic output – quite the contrary.
New work does not fit into old patterns.
Therefore, we also experiment a lot with new forms of work in our own company and always try to live up to what we preach to the outside world. At a time when there is a lot of talk about “New Work” and the “Future of Work,” our biggest concern is actually trying out other things and simply starting with small as well as big changes. It’s a lot of fun and although it can be uncomfortable, it is always exciting and enlightening. And how else could we credibly and effectively flexibilize other organizations – and inspire them with solutions for a different world of work?
At the beginning of our founding there was a vision: We wanted to make a very pragmatic and concrete contribution to making our working environment a more flexible, cooperative and livable place; to make work fit into people’s lives – and not the other way around. As a result, we believed that this world of work would not only be more humane but, as a side effect, even more productive and economically more successful than it is today or ever before. This vision remains with us to this day and is the reference point for all our actions and operations.
Our fundamental basic value is “people matter,” because in the end – more than anything else – the question of “What’s it all for?” matters.
