Work hack #18: Open Wednesday

On Open Wednesday the entire staff gets together to discuss topics that are important to them. The day is organized as a bar camp, meaning all participants can suggest topics and offer sessions that their colleagues can join. In the sessions, the individual topics are then discussed, ideas are collected and solutions to problems developed. At the end of the day, the groups all briefly present their results. On Open Wednesdays many topics can be discussed, and problems solved, because people from all departments are present and contribute their know-how and expertise.

By the way: It doesn’t have to be a Wednesday. Any day of the week will do. A 6- to 8-week rhythm makes sense. And: Attendance is voluntary.
