For more diversity in the world of work – The Diversity Charter

We signed the Diversity Charter in September 2018 and are very excited to be part of this wonderful and important initiative. In this article, we explain the goals of the Charter, why we are part of this initiative, and how important diversity is for businesses today.

The Diversity Charter

The Diversity Charter is an employer initiative to promote diversity in companies and institutions. Since 2006, the initiative’s goal has been to promote the recognition, appreciation, and inclusion of diversity in the world of work in Germany. Organizations should create a work environment that is free of prejudice. All employees should be appreciated, regardless of gender, gender identity, nationality, ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, age, sexual orientation, or identity.

People matter: why we are part of the Diversity Charter

At the beginning of our founding, there was a vision: we wanted to make a very pragmatic and concrete contribution toward having our working environment be more flexible, cooperative and life-friendly; to make work fit into people’s lives, and not the other way around. In this vision, people have always been at the center. That’s why we are clearly committed to more diversity in companies. For more openness, colorfulness, and richness of perspectives in our thinking!

Diversity in companies

Although diversity is currently on everyone’s mind, most companies in Germany are still in their infancy when it comes to managing diversity in their organizations. There are many reasons to deal with this topic. Diversity creates new ideas and perspectives that increase innovation. More diversity in the company also increases the ability to learn within the organization. A wide variety of employees also brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the company.

Some of the diversity measures that we at Tandemploy take and actively support with our Tandemploy software include:

  • Flexible working hours
  • Workplace flexibility
  • Dismantling of silos
  • Promotion of employee networks
  • Mentoring that promotes and allows for more diversity
  • Open communication and networking within the company
  • Promotion of interdisciplinary teams
  • Active knowledge transfer

With our software, we connect people and knowledge in organizations with each other: to dismantle silos, to network expertise and experience, to jointly represent “New Work” and diversity, and to make it a reality.
Our solutions enable companies to make a difference from within and to bring their working models and structures into the digital age. To achieve this, we use the strongest leverage that organizations have: their own employees – that is, everyone!
